The American Board of Surgery (ABS)
Dr. Thoman is a diplomate of The American Board of Surgery, an independent, non-profit organization that certifies surgeons who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge. Surgeons certified by the ABS, known as diplomates, have completed a minimum of five years of surgical residency training following medical school and successfully completed a written and oral examination process administered by the ABS.

American College of Surgeons (ACS)
Dr. Thoman and Dr. Grafton are both Fellows of the American College of Surgeons, a scientific and educational association of surgeons that was founded in 1913 to improve the quality of care for the surgical patient by setting high standards for surgical education and practice.
